Moments~

The other night my Husband tucked me in to sleep as he was staying up later than me. As he made sure I had just enough covers and gave me a soft kiss filled with love, I realized something. I realized that moment with him is a moment in my life. A love moment.

It wasn’t grand. It didn’t make fireworks go off. It was simple connectedness and it shined beautifully!

That right there is part of what makes life great. The smallest of moments in my world.

Count your moments…all of them…no matter the size.

Living in the Moment!

Normally I go through my day…giving attention where needed and also thinking of something else that needs my attention. There are so many things that go on in a day and the list of things to do doesn’t ever get done.

Yesterday it snowed here. That’s unusual for Louisiana. My daughter wanted snow though, so I look at it as God’s way of giving it to her without planning a trip to Maine (where I’m sure it snows alot). We all bundled up and headed outside to enjoy this wonder we so rarely see here.

While we were playing in the snow with snowballs, snowmen, and cold hands, I felt myself living in the moment. In that moment as I breathed in the cold, hoping to stay warm as possible, finding as much snow as I could for snowball artillery. lol The only thing in my world at that moment was playing in the snow. That’s all I wanted to think about. That’s all that mattered.

I’ve got to tell you. It was quite an experience. To clear my mind and enjoy the NOW was…wonderful, exceptional, fantastic. I could do this again!

I encourage all of you, live in a moment. Think of nothing else…only the memory you’re creating…etch it into your mind…fill it with peace…warmth…contentment.

Signs of Presence~

The other day I asked God to keep us in his care as we went throughout our day. We were going to an event that had alot of people and wanted the best day we could have. Throughout the day, at several quiet moments alone, little things would float right in front of me. Once or twice it was a flutter seed (not sure what they’re actually called), another time it was a leaf. It would flutter from above to the ground below and only be an inch or so from my face…a sign that said, “we’re looking after you”. That totally helped my day be wonderful and enjoyed. To be reminded that extra bit of prayer was helping create a marvelous day!

Colors on the wind~

I think God has the best color palate in the world! There’s nothing quite like it and artists try every day to capture it…maybe with a camera, a canvas, dyes, and so on…. Color is one of the most fascinating, brilliant things in this world. I read the other day that there’s a huge range of fish colors, corals, etc too. There is a balance there…above and below…color…it is so free…and affects us so much.

We may not like red. We may like purple, but only certain shades. Blue is a color that is agreeable in many shades…it just soothes. Brown mimicks the earth, grounding, neutral, classy. Yellow almost always brings joy when you see it. It’s the happy color!

Even the shades of colors matter. The lighter the shade, the “freer” it is…like balloons on the wind. The deeper the color, the more “rooted” it feels. Middle of the road “medium” tries to balance the world around it. The colors you wear define you…just like the colors others wear defines them. On some level most people don’t pay much attention to, colors are signs.

Take a notice of this sometime…pick a different color, see how it makes you feel…respect other people’s choices…that’s what they’re there for…choices are for each person to choose the colors they like and don’t like…yet all of the colors continue to exist because they ARE.

To me, God does the same with people’s skin…creates different colors…and while we may not always like certain colors…they exist and they ARE.

Every one and every color has meaning….

My Vision for this Blog~

My vision for this blog is something along these lines…

“Here I am God. I’m doing my best. Thanks for your help.”

As a child, I was given a bookmark with the words, “God is Love”. It was white plastic and had a purple silk tassle on it. I kept it on my hanging board. I think it’s in my senior book.

To me, that’s God. It isn’t the rules you should follow, it isn’t the sins to avoid, it isn’t the lightening waiting to strike you down for something you may have done “wrong”.

We’re not perfect. I don’t think we’re meant to be that way either. I think we’re meant to do our best, learn from our mistakes, and be aware of just how much we affect each other in our daily lives.

God cares about us in everything we do. He also asks that we trust him and listen for the signs in our lives. To see what our hearts tell us, to not live in fear…but to LIVE in life. To realize our lives are there for the creating, one day at a time.

This spot was created because my walk with God is different than a lot of people’s and maybe someone needs to see a different view. I’m not out to change anyone in any way. It could be that you understand where I’m coming from, you need to hear something I write, or you simply need to be reminded that there are many paths…and that’s okay. Whatever the reason, I’m glad you’re here and hope you enjoy your stay!
